Job description

Operational Technology Project Manager

Manchester/ Cheltenham / London

Role Overview:

As a Project Manager in NCC Group's Global OT Consulting and Implementation (C&I) division, your role is pivotal in providing project management to our clients.

NCC Group provides end-to-end Cyber Assurance and engineering services to help businesses strengthen their cybersecurity. This includes strategy, risk assessments, policies, training, and expert support. Services span governance, incident response, 62443 assessments, and tailored offerings like managed services, SOC, DFIR, Pen Testing, and cyber transformation. The OT division role is ideal for experienced cyber professionals looking to deliver impactful solutions and build lasting client partnerships.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clear communication, managing expectations, and fostering strong relationships.
  • Lead end-to-end project management for client OT initiatives, including project planning, scope definition, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Co-ordinate client site visits in engineering facilities.
  • Provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders on project progress, risks, and issues, ensuring transparency and alignment with client goals.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk logs, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for improving project delivery processes and client satisfaction, implementing best practices to enhance service quality.

What we are looking for:

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in project management, with a focus on client-facing roles in a consulting environment. Note: this will also suit someone looking to move into their first project management role.
  • Have worked within or delivered projects to critical national infrastructure client(s).
  • General understanding of operational technology.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical client stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage client expectations, and deliver results in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Desired (but not mandatory) Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree (preferably in a technical discipline e.g. IT, mathematics, physics, engineering, and similar).
  • A Project Management qualification.
  • A cyber security qualification would be beneficial.
