About the Position

As a Project Manager Lead at TELUS Digital, you will be responsible for leading a team of linguists to achieve performance targets set for the year for the following: Slovenian.

Your role will involve planning, prioritizing, and assigning workload to relevant team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion. You will serve as the gate-keeper of client deadlines, ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and to the highest quality standards. In this capacity, you will troubleshoot issues, provide training, and mentor your team to foster their professional growth.

You will be responsible for preparing guidelines for semantic, syntactic, and morphological analysis, ensuring that the team adheres to these standards. Evaluating and analyzing data quality will be a key part of your role, as you strive to maintain and improve the accuracy and reliability of our linguistic data. You will participate in project manager meetings, syncs, and side-projects, contributing your expertise and insights to the broader team.

Your role will also involve providing insights into the team’s performance, identifying blockers, and uncovering opportunities for improvement. Your leadership and organizational skills will be crucial in driving the success of our processing projects.

Project Manager’s responsibilities include:

1. Leading team of linguists to fulfillment of performance targets set for the year
2. Planning, prioritizing and assigning workload to relevant team members
3. Serving as gate-keeper of client deadlines
4. Trouble-shooting, training and mentoring the team
5. Preparing guidelines for semantic, syntactic and morphological analysis
6. Evaluating and analyzing data quality
7. Participating in project managers meetings, syncs and side-projects
8. Providing insight into team’s performance, identifying blockers and opportunities

Job requirements:

1. At least 2 years experience in a natural processing project (e.g., Assistant, Siri, Alexa, etc.)
2. Graduate degree, or comparable work experience, in Linguistics or Computational Linguistics
3. Professional fluency in English
4. Level fluency in Slovenian
5. Knowledge of semantics and syntax
6. Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts
7. An interest in natural processing
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills
9. Good organizational skills
10. Able to multitask effectively and adjust smoothly to changing priorities

Qualifications:

1. Experience with linguistic annotation in semantics and syntax
2. Experience programming or scripting, and working in Linux/Unix environment
