Headley Professional Recruitment are recruiting a Project Manager for our client in Hull. The client is a leading interior fit out contractor who specializes in shopfitting projects across the UK. They have an excellent reputation and history of producing quality, fast track fit out projects across the sector for some leading retail clients. Many of these clients are large food retailers such as Waitrose, M&S, Co-op, WHSmith, Sainsbury's, etc. They offer flexible, hybrid working but regular travel is required to sites across the UK.


They are looking for a Project Manager with experience of running interior fit out projects of various sizes. You must have excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to manage a varied workload and work well in a fast-paced and reactive environment. This is a key position in the business and requires an organised and proactive approach. You will need to work unsupervised and be effective in managing your own time and workloads. Travel and flexibility will be required as projects can be nationwide.


This is a flexible company that offers hybrid working with a mix of home, office, and site.


You will oversee the planning, coordination, and control of all projects assigned to you from inception to the completion of all snagging and will control project timescales, costs, and progress and keep the Senior Management Team informed of these.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor appropriate labour and site management specific to the project.
  2. Control and analysis of labour costs alongside the QS.
  3. Attend and contribute to client and contracts meetings.
  4. Collate, manage and sign off snagging works completed by the project support team.
  5. Record variations from site and liaise with the QS team.
  6. Responsible for site health and safety from pre-contract stage through to project completion.
  7. Promote commercial awareness for on-site projects.
  8. Liaise with supply chain team to ensure compliance and effective site set up.
  9. Ensure quality of workmanship in line with company expectations.
  10. Deliver projects to agreed program of works.
  11. Monitor program of works and identify shortfalls and solutions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. Excellent time keeping and ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines.
  2. A passion for delivering a professional service and quality product.
  3. Ideal candidate will be friendly, proactive, have good organisational skills and have a high attention to detail.
  4. Must have good IT skills - Microsoft skills including Excel and Project.
  5. Professional qualification in project management desirable.
  6. Experience of working on interior fit out projects ideally in the shopfitting sector (preferred).
