Job description

Project Manager (Highways Technology)

* Home-Based (Covering the M1 Corridor)

* £45,000 to £50,000 per year (+ Car or Car allowance)

The Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Project Manager to take a lead role in the delivery of specification, documentation and supervision activities on highways technology installation and maintenance projects in the M1 Corridor.

You will ensure that all projects are controlled and completed on time and within budget, as well as taking responsibility for ensuring health and safety practices are correctly implemented for the field teams.

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. A strong background in the highways industry, ideally dealing with technology (NRTS, RTMC, TPMS, HADECS, VMS, ANPR, etc.)
  2. Solid experience and knowledge of project management methodologies (APMP, Prince2)
  3. Relevant knowledge of technology maintenance, design, development and delivery
  4. Experience in delivering projects in accordance with CDM requirements
  5. Relevant qualifications such as IOSH/SMSTS, SSTMS, CSCS
  6. Current G39, HERS8, NRSWA, NHSS8 Qualification (Highly Desirable)
  7. Full driver's licence

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Take a lead role in the management, supervision and administration of highways projects
  2. Liaise with sub-contractor engineers and operational staff to ensure project parameters are met or exceeded
  3. Ensure all requirements for health and safety activities are met under the current CDM regulations
  4. Carry out site investigations, inspections, surveys, studies and analysis, and prepare appropriately detailed reports on the required outputs
