An established industry player is seeking an Interim Project Manager for Highways to oversee the entire project life cycle of NEC contracts. Interim Project Manager (Highways)

Reference no: Hampshire 109209

Pay Rate: £42.01 per hour PAYE

37 Hours: Monday - Friday, normal working hours

This opening assignment is for: 6-7 months

City: Winchester

The role involves overseeing the entire project life cycle of an NEC contract, managing all contract communications via CEMAR or equivalent platforms. You will leverage technical expertise and experience to develop effective solutions for site queries, design issues, and clarifications, ensuring smooth project execution and compliance.

Key duties:
  • Review and approve contractor programmes and traffic management plans.
  • Provide progress reports to update the client team on project status.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring alignment with programme, quality, and budget.
  • Offer technical advice and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams during design and construction phases.
  • Ensure compliance with financial, health and safety, CDM, and legal regulations, and support internal communications for stakeholder updates.
Key requirements:
  • BSc/BEng (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering or related experience NEC Project Manager Accreditation
  • Valid UK driving licence (for site visits)
  • Knowledge of relevant design standards, regulations, and specifications, including: DMRB (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges), TSRGD (Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions), Manual for Streets and CDM Regulations (Construction, Design & Management).
  • Experience in Leadership/Management of a team
  • Experience in all stages of design and construction of civil engineering projects
  • Experience in supervising construction activities
  • Experience and knowledge of highway contracts, specifications, method of measurement, item coverage and pricing schedules relating to highway projects and schemes.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD.
