Job description

Project Manager (Feedstock Processing) - Client side - Staff - London

Location: London

This is an excellent opportunity to join a world leading renewable and alternative energy company involved in the development of novel green energy solutions on a global scale with excellent career opportunities. Prior knowledge / experience of feedstock processing facility projects is essential.

Role & Responsibilities
  1. This is a client-side role, managing a large scale, green energy feedstock processing facility project through the concept phase as well as FEED and into EPC, managing all engineering, construction and commissioning activities.
  2. Responsible for overall management of the engineering contractor and all 3rd party suppliers.
  3. Acting as the key interface with the FEED / EPC Contractor to drive project execution and contract strategy.
  4. Contract Management - responsible for the tender and contract award process for multiple packages of work and ensuring contractors/licensors execute works in accordance with the terms of the contract.
  5. Schedule Management - driving the schedule to ensure on time delivery and reporting progress.
  6. Cost Management - managing costs to ensure budget delivery.
  7. Cost reporting, invoicing, payments and change management.
  8. Interface Management - overseeing the interface with contractor and all other stakeholders.
  9. Developing and supporting the implementation of work plans, including remedial changes and repairs.
  10. Checking quality of contractor design work to ensure compliance with agreed client design specifications.
  11. Produce budget costs and cash flow projections for projects.
  12. Ensure that issues relating to HSE are effectively managed, in line with the clients' policies and procedures.
Key Skills & Knowledge
  1. Must be degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline, chartered status desired but not essential.
  2. Previously managed projects in the energy sector at all stages.
  3. Prior knowledge / experience of feedstock processing facility projects is essential.
  4. Torrefaction knowledge is highly desirable.
  5. Must have power plant build / refurb / commissioning / re-commissioning experience.
  6. Being a pro-active, independent self-starter is also essential.
