Project Manager, Building Services (MEP) – Heysham Power Station
Location: Heysham 1 & 2 (with occasional support to other EDF Nuclear North sites)
Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, permanent
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end delivery of critical infrastructure projects at Heysham Power Stations. You will lead multidisciplinary teams and be responsible for planning, execution, and handover of works within a high-risk, regulated environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a leader with a strong technical background, commercial awareness, and the ability to drive complex programmes within the nuclear or energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full project lifecycle from design through to handover
- Ensure successful delivery of construction programmes, meeting contractual obligations
- Monitor project risk, performance, budgets, and quality
- Assess design feasibility and ensure alignment with buildability and timelines
- Lead and develop engineering and supervisory teams
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety protocols and champion Zero Harm principles
- Manage handover documentation and ensure operational targets are met
- Liaise with internal teams (Operations, Finance, Commercial, HSEQ) and external stakeholders (Client, Supply Chain, Regulators)
- Drive continuous improvement, lean initiatives, and best practice across all project stages
- Support work-winning processes with technical and operational input
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Proven project management experience in engineering, energy, or regulated sectors
- HNC/NVQ or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline
- SMSTS certified and holds a valid CSCS card
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of construction contracts
- Hands-on experience with construction operations, project phasing, and handover processes
- Knowledge of HSE legislation, risk management, and compliance procedures
- Skilled in resource planning, cost forecasting, and performance monitoring
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong leadership capabilities with a collaborative approach
- Full UK driving licence
