As a Project Manager, your role encompasses several critical tasks. You are entrusted with delivering significant technology and business change initiatives that propel Thames’ progress toward achieving business area goals and desired outcomes.
What you’ll be doing as a Project Manager
- You will lead both internal teams and third-party collaborators, employing a combination of line management and matrix management approaches.
- Review project closure reports, attend lessons learned workshops and seek to apply relevant learnings.
- Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders to provide updates on the project's progress and to maintain awareness of business needs and priorities.
- Establish regular project review meetings covering cost, schedule, resources, RAID, and RAG statuses.
- Create and maintain project cost models covering actual, accrual, and forecast–challenging costs to drive value.
- You will work closely with our supplier and finance teams to optimize project resources and costs.
We are looking for 2 Project Managers.Base location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court Reading.Working pattern – Monday to Friday 36 hours.What you should bring to the roleWhile not mandatory, experience in utilities or water-related projects would be advantageous. We are looking for project managers with a wide range of experience who can bring this to their projects at Thames Water.
Essential- Experience with different delivery methodologies i.e. Agile, Waterfall.
- Extensive experience of IT project management experience.
- To be able to work with stakeholders up to the Head of Department level.
- Meeting project goals within a specific timeframe.
Desirable- Qualifications such as Prince 2 or equivalent.
- Delivery of IT projects involving third-party suppliers.
- Agile Project Management qualification or certification.
