Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic and fast-growing team within the Quality, Safety & Improvement Directorate Programme Management Office. We are currently recruiting for a range of exciting opportunities, including permanent roles, maternity leave cover, and secondment positions.

Main duties of the job

The PMO Team is a busy, high-volume and friendly environment that will suit an organised person with a great eye for detail and plenty of team spirit. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and working with Business & Project team members, you will be adept at managing, supporting and consulting on projects. You will already have experience in project management methodologies and a background in managing complex projects.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Educated to Postgraduate Diploma level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Project and/or Project management office qualification, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Experience of management and managing successful projects
  • Effective partnership working in the public sector
  • Experience of effective stakeholder working with external bodies
  • Experience as a formal project manager.
  • Experience of working within the NHS

Skills and Attributes

  • Developing and monitoring complex project plans
  • Developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Project Boards
  • Track record of problem solving in a project management environment
  • Competent in the use of desktop applications
  • Advanced IT skills in a range of desktop applications e.g., Excel, Power BI

Other

  • Travel around Wales, and possibly further afield on a regular basis
  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards
