Project Manager

A large Civil Engineering Contractor with a £134 million turnover is looking for a Project Manager to work on-site in Snowdonia overseeing a project for 8 months, working on excavation and support of a 40m deep shaft. They offer a variety of excellent work and lifestyle benefits, and a competitive salary of up to £85,000 or CIS. Our client is looking to interview quickly for this position.

Project Manager Position Remuneration

1. Salary: £70k - £85K is CIS
2. 23 days holiday plus 8 days Bank Holidays
3. Discretionary company bonus
4. Monday to Friday 11 hours a day
5. Car Allowance
6. Life insurance 4 x salary
7. Pension 5% company 4% employee

Project Manager Position Requirements

1. Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or related discipline
2. Experience of Civil Engineering or Tunnelling Projects
3. Ability to deliver a project on time and on budget working for difficult clients
4. Commercially astute with knowledge of standard forms of contract and measurement
5. Proficient in NEC3 Option A & C contracts and change management
6. Experienced in Design Management Programme & Risk Management
7. Experience with production of CVR, including cost control, forecasting and value assessment
8. Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate
9. SMSTS
10. An understanding of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, LOLER, PUWER, Confined Space Regulations, Working at Height Regulations etc.

Project Manager Position Overview

1. Ensure the site is run in a safe and efficient manner that reflects high standards
2. Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximized
3. Produce procurement schedules and liaise with the procurement department to ensure sites have adequate resources to complete the tasks
4. Continually forecasting, keeping the team informed of forecasts and changes
5. Knowing the costs for unplanned construction work or resources and keeping that set aside
6. Reporting Risk and Opportunities to the senior management team
7. Deliver the work to the specified quality without defects.
8. Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, ITP's and waste management plans, in line with Company procedures
9. Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed
10. Maintain commercial tension to drive out cost
