An award-winning multidisciplinary consultancy renowned for innovative and sustainable design is seeking a Project Environmental Consultant to join its dynamic Development Team in Bristol. The diverse team comprises highly qualified and chartered engineers, scientists, and environmentalists dedicated to delivering excellence across a broad spectrum of sectors.

The Role
As a Project Environmental Consultant, you will engage in a variety of projects within the natural and built environments, including infrastructure, education, health, commercial, residential, leisure, and large-scale regeneration schemes. Collaborating with internal teams and a network of sub-consultants, you will provide comprehensive development planning services. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop technical expertise and project management skills within a supportive and progressive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review technical and non-technical reports, distilling information for diverse audiences.
  • Research and source data to inform assessments and decision-making processes.
  • Prepare Construction Environmental Management Plans, Construction Traffic Management Plans, Waste Management Plans, and Sustainability Statements.
  • Coordinate internal resources and manage teams of sub-consultants to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
  • Implement and promote the use of the company’s Integrated Quality Management System.
  • Support senior staff in preparing bids and tenders.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Stay abreast of updated legislation and best practices, disseminating knowledge within the team.
  • Maintain professional memberships and actively pursue chartership.

Requirements

  • BA or BSc in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Geography, Town & Country Planning, or a related field; an MA or MSc is preferred.
  • Graduate or associate membership in a relevant professional institution (e.g., IEMA, IES, CIWEM).
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and motivated team player with a questioning approach and a desire to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work with strong attention to detail.
  • Commercial and client-focused approach.
  • Manage time effectively, meet deadlines, work within budget constraints.
  • Competent in IT skills, conversant with Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to travel to various locations for site visits and meetings.
