Job description

Job title: Project Engineer - Governance

Location: Warton - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

Salary: £54,793-£60,326 (dependent on skills and experience)

What you'll be doing:

  1. Creating and developing parts of the engineering operating framework and governance system along with policies and processes for the design and development phase of the programme
  2. Creating an internal assurance framework
  3. Working with the Airworthiness Team to support design organisation approvals and the appointment of technical roles
  4. Acting as one of the focal points for engineering governance between the joint business entity and the UK industry Lead Systems Integrator
  5. Working closely with the COO Central Engineering Governance team to share best practice and activity support
  6. Managing a small team of engineers

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  1. Degree qualified in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
  2. This must include relevant experience in Engineering Governance experience on Defence programmes
  3. Experience in creating, and applying engineering processes, tools, and approaches for creative solutions, whilst meeting governance requirements
  4. Previous experience managing a small team, task management, performance reviews and talent management

Desirable:

  1. Knowledge of engineering governance principles ideally gained from at least 2 different areas
  2. Experience in working with at least one external Customer (e.g. UK MOD)
