We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to coordinate the functions of the estimating, scheduling, procurement, design, construction, and front line operational departments as they relate to the progress and completion of the project/programme under their direction.
You will be responsible for achieving the overall budget and quality objectives of the project/programme of works on WWC saving schemes. You will also ensure that emergency works within your area are managed correctly and that everything is being done to expedite the correct repair as efficiently as possible. You will work in liaison with and give assistance to Asset Management/MEICA, Delivery Engineers, FPMs in WWC, and will assist contractors in scoping the correct repairs for WPS and networks.
The role will be integral to deliver the required efficiency improvements within the business, and as such will need to have a working understanding of pumping stations/networks, the ability to problem solve, and ideally an engineering background.
Your role will be key in delivering programmes of work to assist WWC in maintenance and saving money (across the 5 year AMP cycle), accountable for forecasting, updates, and reporting of projects within your control. Working with contractors and other directorates to assist on-site with large scale emergency management and mitigation, you will be creative in thinking outside the box for alternative solutions that can be used for quicker, better repairs. You will also be working with WWC/others to help identify problem sites and create solutions to make the area more robust and efficient.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have a WasteWater Engineering background with strong operational experience. The role requires great analytical skills and reporting experience; therefore, it is essential for you to be able to work on data. Exposure to project management will be ideal though not essential.
You will be required to be part of standby which is 1 in 8 - additional payments and overtime will be paid during standby.
