Project Controller (Contract)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Project Controller to join our team in supporting high-profile defence programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient planning, monitoring, and execution of projects using Primavera P6 as the primary scheduling tool. You will play a crucial role in maintaining project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics, while supporting decision-makers with accurate and timely information to facilitate successful project delivery.

1. Project Scheduling & Planning:
   1. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 for complex defence programs, ensuring alignment with project goals and milestones.
   2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project tasks, deliverables, and dependencies.
   3. Perform critical path analysis and identify any schedule risks or delays, proposing mitigation strategies.
2. Budget & Cost Management:
   1. Track and monitor project costs, working closely with finance teams to ensure projects remain within budget.
   2. Maintain accurate records of project expenditures, forecasts, and cost performance data.
   3. Provide regular cost and schedule reports to project stakeholders, identifying trends or variances and recommending corrective actions.
3. Progress Reporting & Analysis:
   1. Prepare and distribute regular project status reports, including progress updates, schedule forecasts, and risk assessments.
   2. Support the creation of Earned Value Management (EVM) reports, analyzing project performance and providing key insights to management.
   3. Monitor and track project milestones, deliverables, and deadlines, ensuring projects stay on track and are completed within scope and on schedule.
4. Risk Management & Change Control:
   1. Identify potential risks or issues that could impact project timelines or costs, and collaborate with teams to implement risk mitigation strategies.
   2. Maintain project change control processes, ensuring that all scope changes are documented and incorporated into the project schedule and budget.
5. Stakeholder Communication & Coordination:
   1. Act as a key point of contact for project scheduling and reporting, providing detailed insights and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
   2. Ensure clear communication of any schedule deviations, potential risks, or adjustments to the overall project timeline.
   3. Assist in organizing and preparing for project review meetings, presenting schedule and cost performance data.
6. Compliance & Documentation:
   1. Ensure all project documentation, including schedules, reports, and change requests, adhere to company and regulatory standards, such as military specifications (MIL-STD).
   2. Support audits and project reviews by providing accurate and up-to-date project control data and documentation.
7. Skills & Competencies:
   1. Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6; experience with MS Project, Excel, or other scheduling software is a plus.
   2. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
   3. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
   4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
   5. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities while ensuring the accuracy of deliverables.
