Project Business Analyst

A fantastic opportunity for an IT Business Analyst has arisen within the IT FCAS team. This opportunity is within our new IT team who are on a journey to become a leader in delivering digital technology at the point of need. Our delivery organisation is delivering the most ambitious portfolio to date. You will be part of this key business enabling activity, shaping the future for Leonardo UK.

What you will do

1. Collaborate and communicate with all stakeholders to ensure operational goals are being met in line with IT IBP and GCAP Budget.
2. Determine what projects/programmes are within planned IBP and GCAP budget that will meet business objectives.
3. Recommend and assess the impact of change brought about by new and existing projects and programmes.
4. Identify and mitigate strategic and project/programme operational and technical risks.
5. Maintain working relationships between IT and business consumers and customers.
6. Support development of architectural road maps by gathering business requirements (functional and non-functional).
7. Work collaboratively with both internal and external customers to understand the business requirements, demand and associated capabilities.
8. Work with Business Partner and Product Owner to ensure New Demand projects align to operational goals and IBP schedule and financial planning.
9. Collaborate with Business Partner, Enterprise Architects, Operations, Product Owner and Service Transition to prioritise project/programme technical and functional requirements, identifying what the client wants and determining what is feasible to deliver.
10. Work with Business Partner to ensure project/programme passes Gate 1 Stage Gate Review in line with customer requirements.
11. Support Project Manager with overseeing and co-ordinating projects and programmes, specifically:
1. Ensuring comprehensive project/programme requirements are collated during Initiation phase (post Gate 1).
2. Ensure handover of project/programme to allocated Project Manager leading up to Gate 2 Stage Gate Review move into Planning.
3. Ensure engagement with Service Transition and capture operational readiness review activities where required.
4. Supporting Project Manager to project/programme planning, preparing and maintaining documentation, collaborating with Commercial to review contracts and financials, monitoring project activities and evaluating overall success and business alignment.
5. Capture, collate, review and document the customer requirements, Business drivers and system capabilities.

What we are looking for

1. Strong Business Analyst Skillset.
2. Experience with Project Management Methodologies (agile and waterfall).
3. Experience in various facilitation methodologies – i.e. Design thinking.
4. Experience in capturing business requirements.
5. Able to arrange and facilitate workshops with key stakeholders to capture business requirements.
