Project Accountant

We are currently looking for a Project Accountant to join us in Siemens Mobility - Rail Infrastructure business. Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, you will have financial responsibility for certain projects within a portfolio or region.

This role promotes hybrid working and requires a minimum of 1-2 days in the office per week.

You'll make a difference by:

1. Being a key member of the project delivery team as a finance business partner to the Project Manager and other project team leaders.
2. Ensuring robust financial reporting and forecasting, adhering to requirements in terms of quality, accuracy, and meeting key deadlines.
3. Compiling and verifying accurate period end positions on projects through accurate calculation and assessment of accruals and revenue recognition.
4. Providing challenge and insight on finance topics within project team reviews.
5. Ensuring adherence to the Project Accounting Process, Project contractual requirements, and financial reporting requirements for projects which you are responsible for.

Your success will be grounded by:

1. Working towards professional accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA).
2. Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge others including other project team members.
3. A desire and ability to work closely and develop productive relationships with both Finance staff and other project functions.
4. The ability to analyse and use data to add value to a process or activity.
5. Being strong mathematically with advanced Excel skills.
