Job Title: CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator

Salary: Up to £18.00 per hour, depending on experience

About the Job:
We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer, Setter, and Operator to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role for someone confident working with Fanuc or similar control systems to program, set, and operate CNC machines. You'll be producing precision parts to tight tolerances, so attention to detail and a solid understanding of machining processes is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program CNC machines using Fanuc or similar control systems
2. Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces for production runs
3. Operate CNC lathes and/or milling machines to produce high-quality components
4. Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specs
5. Carry out quality checks using measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, verniers, gauges)
6. Make necessary adjustments to ensure components meet tolerances
7. Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment
8. Work to production schedules and meet targets
9. Support colleagues and assist in troubleshooting when needed

What We're Looking For:

1. Proven experience as a CNC Programmer, Setter, and Operator
2. Confident working with Fanuc or similar controls (Mazatrol, Siemens, Heidenhain, etc.)
3. Strong understanding of machining processes, feeds, and speeds
4. Able to read and work from technical drawings
5. Skilled in using precision measuring tools for quality checks
6. Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail
7. Team player with a strong work ethic and good communication skills

Nice to Have:

1. Apprenticeship or relevant qualification in Engineering/Manufacturing
2. Experience working with both CNC lathes and mills
3. Manual machining skills or knowledge of offline programming (e.g. CAD/CAM)
4. Experience with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles
