Programme Finance Manager, International Development to £35k DOE

Wonderful opportunity exists at this Cambridgeshire based International Development charity for a competent Programme Finance Manager who will have a key role to play within the Programme Finance Department in assisting in the in-going development of a financial delivering management assurance framework within their risk management strategy and lead in the preparation of periodic financial reports to donors and improve accountability and donor compliance. Working from home / remotely (at least in the short term, though potentially in the long term as well for candidates at a distance from Cambridge), you will support a major programme of works transitioning from one entity to another with a focus on contractual compliance and the improvement and development of their administrative and financial systems. In addition, you will contribute to financial planning and budgeting processes, deployment of funds to projects as well as preparation of new budgets and project applications. Reporting into the Head of Programme Finance, this is a 20 month fixed term position initially requiring candidates to have at least 5 years experience in a similar finance role and a good understanding of charity statutory accounting requirements (SORP) especially around INGO’s. You will be passionate about transparency and accountability in the finance sector and the ability to analyse complex problems and express financial implications and recommendations in clear business cases at all levels within a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment. You will be a Qualified Accountant or working towards a qualification ( ICAEW, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent ) with excellent IT literacy skills particularly knowledge of Excel, spreadsheets and financial systems. Any finance experience within the charity sector helpful as would experience of the international NGO sector (not essential!).

The organisation is based in Cambridgeshire, however for the foreseeable and potentially in the long term, the position will be working remotely from home.
