Job Description

Position Summary

The Program Director provides supervision and oversight of Clinical and Adjunct Programs. Responsibilities include program development, supervision and oversight of training and hiring. This position also develops and implements plans for enhancing productivity, compliance and profitability. The Program Director acts in collaboration with the other managers and program directors while consistently adhering to policies and procedures, accreditation and licensing guidelines and regulations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Recruits, screens and hires clinicians and adjunct service providers
  • Monitors workflow, timeliness and quality of deliverables of subordinates
  • Monitors daily operations including scheduling, budgeting, supervision and clinical care
  • Develops and implements clinical strategies, psycho-education and learning task groups and clinical interventions
  • Establishes training programs specifically for the programs and the assigned staff members, including the monitoring of attendance/compliance
  • Supervises and implements as needed client services review processes, including responding to client and/or staff grievances
  • Participates in representing the facility in marketing events and professional conferences and trainings
  • Develops policies and procedures for the therapeutic component of the facility
  • Develops and implements plans for enhancing productivity, compliance and profitability
  • Monitors action plans for enhancing efficiency of existing projects and development of expansion projects
  • Supervises ongoing revision of procedures, protocols and processes to enhance compliance, marketability, and cost efficiency of deliverables
  • Works with staff to develop marketing plan and develop/maintain relationships with referral sources, community organizations and professional groups
  • Maintains ongoing collaborative relationships with referral sources and resources and the PBH marketing staff members
  • Maintains correct ADP entries and other data entry on employees in the timeframes required
  • Completes thorough performance appraisals on assigned staff members in the defined timeframes, with the use of meaningful developmental goals designed to have positive impact on performance improvement for employees
  • Consistently complies with the safety guidelines as specified by the Ranch, including the supervision of all mandatory reporting and documentation of clinical or residential concerns including the appropriate and timely completion of incident reports
  • Performs any additional operational activities as requested or required by Clinical Director and/or the Executive Director

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of a variety of models and theories of addiction, recovery, mental illness and related issues
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of diagnostic criteria for dual conditions and ability to conceptualize modalities and criteria within continuum of care
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of diverse cultures and specific issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications and Requirements

Education:

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field
  • Completion of all supervisory courses required to supervise clinical mental health staff

Experience:

  • 3+ years in a clinical, psychiatric or developmental setting
  • 3+ years supervisory/managerial experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulations and related codes

License/Certification:

  • Maintains a current Tennessee license as a LPC-MHSP, LADAC, LCSW or a related professional license

Applicable State Requirements:

  • Must meet pre-employment standards and maintain all applicable state and job related guidelines for background screening, fingerprinting, drug testing, health screening, DMV, Insurance, CPR/Basic First Aid and license/credential verifications.
