The School of Mathematical Sciences

The School of Mathematical Sciences at University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) seeks to fill an academic position at the level of professor. The School currently runs two degree programmes, which lead successful graduates to University of Nottingham degrees in BSc Honours Mathematics with Applied Mathematics and BSc Honours Statistics. Some of our students spend the last two years of education in Nottingham, UK, but most of them graduate in Ningbo, China. All our teaching is delivered in English, which is the academic working language of the university.

About You

The person appointed will be expected to supervise postgraduate research students, to conduct their own research and to play a leading role in the research activities of the School. The position is open to candidates that are internationally renowned for their research with a strong record of mathematical publications, such as in journals that are highly regarded (A, A*) by the journal ranking of the Australian Mathematical Society. Applicants must have successfully supervised several PhD students to completion as lead supervisors.

We seek to appoint an articulate teacher, with international experience of teaching mathematics in English, as the successful candidate will be expected to teach modules offered by the School of Mathematical Sciences.

Applicants will currently hold a professor rank or have at least four years of experience at reader/associate professor rank.

Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support

The successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract for up to 5 years, which may be extended by mutual agreement. Salary is negotiable depending on skills and experience and will be within the professorial range, minimum RMB 772,893 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience, and you will have a range of benefits and entitlements, including accommodation allowance, insurances, schooling support, home flight, relocation & repatriation support, paid annual leave, and various of Talent Scheme.
