The Wrexham site, which employs approximately 350 workers, is a manufacturing site as well as an Energy Network Solution hub. We produce Low, Medium, and High Voltage cables up to 132kV, as well as accessories and components, using high-grade, fire-resistant materials sought after by key institutions and multinational companies. Wrexham also manufactures submarine cables used for offshore wind farms.

About The Role

We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team at the Wrexham Site as an Area Manager. This key role involves providing operational leadership in our components business. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring production resources are positioned to deliver forecasted output, maintain compliance with specifications and costs, lead the drive to continuously improve processes, capitalize on opportunities when they arise, and safeguard the well-being of our employees, assets, and environment.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure adherence to Department’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
2. Plan and monitor to ensure delivery objectives are met.
3. Deploy Continuous Improvement methodologies to achieve challenging targets in labour productivity, machine utilization, material usage, and scrap/waste reduction projects.
4. Conduct daily deployment meetings with Production Control to determine and agree on the production plan, ensuring that all resources are in place to achieve this requirement.
5. Motivate, develop, and engage the team to achieve goals and objectives.
6. Identify training needs to ensure that skill base is not a constraint.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Ideally educated to HNC or higher level in a technical discipline or qualified through experience and possess knowledge of production processes.
2. Sound experience within Manufacturing/Operational Management.
3. Experience of team supervision is also desirable.
4. Self-motivated and decisive problem solver with excellent communication skills.
5. Proven ability to lead, motivate, coordinate, and direct Team Leaders and Production Operators to achieve departmental targets and objectives.
