Job description

Our client in Whittlesey is looking for a strong-minded and experienced Production Supervisor for their busy industrial environment. You will be the line manager for a team of 4 people. This is a very hands-on role with 85% of your time in the factory with the team and 15% of your time in the office/admin.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure safe working practices are followed and standard operating procedures are maintained at all times.
  2. Lead, manage, and develop shift operators, promoting a culture of manufacturing excellence.
  3. Understand and monitor KPIs to ensure the IBA processing plant meets or exceeds performance targets.
  4. Actively participate in meetings, encouraging collaboration, and driving continuous improvement.
  5. Oversee accurate and timely data collection and reporting; review shift data to ensure reliability before distribution.
  6. Manage holiday scheduling to align with business needs and avoid staffing shortages.
  7. Support business operations beyond production when needed, utilizing your skills across departments.
  8. Liaise with machine suppliers to prioritize repair work in line with safety and production needs.
  9. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Minimum IOSH Managing Safely qualification; NEBOSH preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership with proven experience in building and leading teams.
  • Background working in complex, heavy industrial settings with large mobile plant & equipment.
  • Results-driven, with a strong commitment to improving plant performance.
  • Knowledge of plant maintenance systems and effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent communicator, able to engage with diverse teams and handle challenging situations.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills to prioritise tasks efficiently.

A background in Heavy industry such as quarry, recycling, waste, mining etc. would be an advantage.
