Job description

As Shift Manager, you'll be responsible for leading a production team to achieve performance targets, ensure quality standards, and maintain high levels of food safety and compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on coaching, performance management, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and motivate a production team to deliver shift output targets
  2. Ensure product quality and food safety standards are consistently met
  3. Implement and uphold GMP, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
  4. Maintain accurate production records and KPI data
  5. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reduce downtime
  6. Liaise closely with engineering and other shift teams to optimise operations
  7. Conduct induction and on-the-job training for new team members
  8. Manage shift handovers, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution
  9. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, taking corrective action when necessary
About You
  1. Previous supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment
  2. Strong understanding of food safety, H&S, and quality control standards
  3. Proactive leadership style with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Forklift License
  5. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across teams
  6. Working knowledge of SAP or similar systems is an advantage
  7. A "can-do" attitude and commitment to driving performance
