Job description

Production Planner required to join a company that is a leading provider of subcontract machining and fabrication services, offering high-quality, precision-engineered solutions to a diverse range of industries. They are seeking a skilled and organized Production Planner to join our team and ensure the efficient scheduling and execution of production activities, as well as other tasks that you may be asked to get involved with.



Production Planner Position Overview


  • Production Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and capacity constraints. Ensure that schedules are optimized for efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with production teams to allocate resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, to meet production targets. Monitor resource availability and address any potential bottlenecks.
  • Order Management: Review customer orders and specifications to ensure all necessary materials and processes are accounted for in the production plan. Communicate any issues or delays to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure that materials and components are available to meet production needs without excess stock.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflow.

Production Planner Position Requirements


  • Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of production planning principles, including scheduling, resource allocation, and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with machining and fabrication processes is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in production planning software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Production Planner Position Remuneration


  • Full time - Permanent position
  • Salary £28,000 - £31,000 (DOE)
  • Monday to Friday
  • Competitive holiday allowance
  • Pension
