Job description

Production Operative who is familiar with operating and maintaining machinery and understanding production processes, who has strong interpersonal skills and is able to work in a fast-paced environment, is required for a recycling facility based in Runcorn, Cheshire, North West England.

Ongoing training will be provided and there will be an opportunity for the right candidate to develop into a Multi-Skilled Operative.

Please note: Fork Lift Truck / FLT licence is essential.

SALARY: £13.76 per hour including shift allowance

LOCATION: Runcorn, Cheshire, North West England (WA7)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent (Shift Work)

DUTIES

Your duties as a Production Operative will include:

  1. Fixed Plant Operation: Operate machinery to oversee the production process, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high-quality output. Continuously monitor the production process to achieve daily targets. Perform daily adjustments and lubrication of machines.
  2. Health, Safety & Environmental: Comply with all legislation, policies, and procedures, prioritising and promoting safety in all aspects of work.
  3. Maintenance: Replace consumable items associated with the production process, such as filters and drums. Ensure routine operational checks and maintenance tasks are completed in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
  4. Site Operations: Operate the site and production processes safely and efficiently. Maintain high standards of plant cleanliness.
  5. Team Support: Assist with other duties as needed, collaborating with colleagues to achieve production targets and maintain a high standard of work.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Work within the team to continuously deliver performance improvements and ensure production efficiency and targets are met.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Technical Ability: Familiarity with operating and maintaining machinery, as well as understanding of production processes. Experience working in an operational environment that involves hands-on work and exposure to diverse conditions is preferred. A FLT licence is essential.
  2. Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks within set timeframes while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  3. Problem-Solver: Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently.
  4. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively and professionally with colleagues with minimal supervision.
