Production Manager - Food Sector - Wholesalers

Reporting to the Director, you will manage the Production Team in the day-to-day production and order requirements of the business. You will lead and motivate the department, engaging with the team through the organization of job rotation, conducting performance and probation reviews, staff training, coaching, appropriate delegation, and regular communication of team performance.

Main tasks of the job:

1. Plan and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Production Team.
2. Proactively take on personal responsibility and accountability to support the Key Team Members and cover when unavailable.
3. Manage the production costs and undertake or arrange for the preparation of reports and records.
4. Ensure adequate training is given to the Production Team Members and ensure high-quality work performance.
5. Identify and develop key skills within the area to ensure succession planning.
6. Manage team conflicts and issues by observing diplomatic mediation and resolution-based discussions.
7. Ensure effective communication, performance, and development of the team, whilst maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, and health and safety within the area.
8. Conduct regular team meetings, huddles and briefings.
9. Report any H&S and food safety concerns to a manager immediately.
10. Promote a culture of high hygiene standards and ensure that all team members maintain it.

To be considered for the Production Manager opportunity, you must have proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a production management role within the fish and seafood industry, with strong knowledge of fish and seafood processing techniques and equipment.

You will have familiarity with food safety standards and quality assurance protocols, with an excellent leadership and team management approach. This is the perfect opportunity for someone to join an internationally respected organisation and really make their mark.
