Job description

About the Role:

Our client is a well-established food manufacturer seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to join their team. As a growing business, they are looking for someone to lead, manage, and oversee the day-to-day operations of their production facility. This position offers a unique opportunity to make an impact on both operational efficiency and staff development within a busy, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage daily production operations to meet customer expectations.
  2. Effectively allocate resources and optimise asset usage to maximise results.
  3. Oversee product quality, output, and on-time logistics.
  4. Monitor processes and take corrective actions where necessary.
  5. Keep up to date with best practices and production management techniques.
  6. Foster cross-department collaboration, including procurement, distribution, and management.
  7. Manage and develop a team of supervisors and staff (approximately 50 staff across 5 supervisors).
  8. Collaborate with Directors to implement cost-saving strategies and operational improvements.
  9. Address employee concerns and grievances.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience as a Production Manager in the food industry.
  2. Ideally, you will have experience of a complex food production.
  3. Demonstrated staff management and development experience.
  4. Knowledge of quality standards and health & safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  5. Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  6. Hands-on, lead-by-example attitude, with a willingness to jump in and support the team when needed.
