Job Title: Production Manager
Location: Wigan
Hours: 35 hours per week (flexibility required due to shift patterns)
Contract: Permanent


Are you a driven and experienced Production Manager looking for your next challenge? Our client is seeking a dynamic individual to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy production plant, ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and lead production supervisors and personnel across a multi-shift system.
  2. Ensure that production targets are met and address any bottlenecks or delays.
  3. Provide insightful reports on manufacturing performance to the senior leadership team.
  4. Analyse processes and implement improvements to optimise production performance.
  5. Ensure strict adherence to health and safety guidelines and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  6. Review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain relevance and accuracy.
  7. Investigate quality issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.

What We're Looking For:
  1. Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (preferred).
  2. Proven experience in managing direct reports.
  3. Knowledge and experience with ISO9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
  4. Experience in manufacturing, particularly in chemicals (preferred).
  5. Understanding of 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
  6. NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (desirable).
