Job description

Overview

Waters Corporation is currently looking to hire an experienced Production Manager to join our Chemical Manufacturing team in Taunton, MA. In this role, you will be leading a team responsible for the batch-manufacturing of chemical materials.

Responsibilities
  1. Leads a 42 person manufacturing department producing highly specialized chemicals on a small scale for the chromatography industry.
  2. Ensures that all the equipment is in proper working order.
  3. Leads the activities of the team members in accordance with work instructions and company policy to ensure a quality product delivered on time.
  4. Actively involved in ensuring that employees are working safely by monitoring how work is carried out and ensuring that the operation adheres to local regulations.
  5. Implements job-related training for all employees on the off shift.
  6. Coaches and provides technical expertise to resolve processing issues and creates and ensures corrective actions are implemented.
  7. Responsible for creating a high morale workplace with the highest ethical standards.
  8. Acts as a member of the management team and performs other duties as directed by position or required by the Plant Manager.
  9. Ensures the appropriate level of accountability for facility goals and objectives at the team leaders and team members’ levels.
  10. Monitors and takes appropriate timely improvement action to meet production quality and quantity.
  11. Utilizes problem-solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, process control, and continuous process improvement tools to meet or exceed the facility key operating statistics.
  12. Conducts, leads, or implements the appropriate process audits; the audits will identify the need for the appropriate containment, corrective, and preventive actions, leading to minimizing or eliminating process deviations and non-conforming product root causes.
  13. Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
Qualifications

Education:

  1. Bachelors Degree, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field of study or >15 years of relevant chemical industry experience.

Experience:

  1. Significant previous leadership experience in a chemical manufacturing facility is required.
  2. Experience with application and compliance with OSHA PSM program.

Skills:

  1. Strong attention to detail.
  2. Ability to comprehend and follow written procedures and documentation.
  3. Ability to learn new processes.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
