RMS are delighted to be recruiting for a permanent Production Manager to join a company based in County Durham.

Job Purpose:

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all production activities in a 24/7 sheet extrusion operation, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met.

This role involves coordinating with various departments to optimise production processes and improve overall performance. The Production Manager will also foster a positive work environment that emphasises continuous improvement, employee engagement, and high performance. It is essential you have experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing/production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage production operations across all lines to maximise efficiency and quality.
2. Enforce company Health & Safety policies, ensuring all incidents are reported and addressed.
3. Minimise production downtime by implementing efficient processes and troubleshooting technical issues.
4. Support and guide Shift Managers in managing production teams effectively.
5. Ensure products meet specifications and adhere to the production plan.
6. Oversee quality checks and ensure compliance with standards throughout production shifts.
7. Maintain and ensure accurate documentation, including quality reports, daily reports, accident records, and order requests.
8. Achieve set deadlines, KPIs, and performance targets.
9. Work closely with department managers to address materials, quality, and maintenance needs.
10. Facilitate ongoing training for production staff and maintain updated training records.
11. Enforce adherence to company policies and procedures among production employees.
12. Conduct employee appraisals, PEG discussions, and investigations as required.
13. Manage shift deployment and flexi-rota schedules to ensure fairness and consistency.
14. Maintain high housekeeping standards across the production area.
15. Contribute to OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements and 5S initiatives.
16. Lead daily production meetings and present weekly production updates.
