Production Manager

• Salary up to £45000 per annum

On behalf of our client, a packaging manufacturer based in the Rochdale area, we are looking to recruit an experienced Production Manager with good people management skills, who can lead a small established team, who is quality driven and can drive and future proof the business.

The Job

1. Directing and managing the day-to-day activities.
2. Achieving Safety leadership at all levels including shop floor employees.
3. Implementing company policies, procedures and initiatives.
4. Implementation of the company's annual quality, environmental and health & safety plans.
5. Controlling of all aspects of Production processes including their quality, environmental and health and safety aspects, impacts and records.
6. Supporting the Sales and Operations Planning process working to Min/Max stock levels and adherence to production plans for on time in full deliveries to customers.
7. Providing resources to achieve adherence to annual, monthly and weekly Operational Production Plans for core and value-added operations.
8. Developing and implementing annual plans to deliver cost reduction in operational areas.
9. Ensuring sufficient skills and competences are available to meet operational objectives.
10. Product and reject control and identification.
11. Liaising with Engineering to prioritise and arrange plant maintenance.
12. Performing HR related duties such as recruiting, counselling, disciplining and developing employees.

About You

1. Experience in managing, preferably in a process or food related industry.
2. Continuous improvement in company health & safety performance.
3. An understanding of lean principles.
4. The creation of new ideas to deliver continuous cost reduction ideas.
5. Experience in planning and organising production schedules.
6. Determining quality control standards, including standard operating procedures.
7. Excellent IT skills, strong presentation, communication and numerical skills.
8. Excellent methodical / organisation skills and accuracy.
9. Self motivation and an ability to use your initiative and work pro-actively.
