Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the Production Team to ensure productivity, schedule, and efficiency targets are met.
- Oversee the Planning function to develop and maintain production schedules that meet and exceed business and customer demands.
- Ensure effective capacity management of production plant, material, and labor resources.
- Handle the recruitment process, including interviews, induction, and training of new starters.
- Chair the Quarterly People Review and recommend training requirements and grading changes.
- Monitor performance to plan and communicate delays in a timely manner, taking appropriate actions to recover the schedule.
- Maintain high levels of inter-department communication.
- Promote health and safety awareness and best practices across the Team.
- Drive efficiency in all aspects of the Production Department: people, processes, and equipment.
- Produce and communicate Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
- Maintain high levels of transaction accuracy and housekeeping standards.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality departments to ensure smooth transitions of New Product Introduction through FAI into recurring production.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive the company vision and promote the Production Team's contributions to overall business success.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven leadership and communication abilities with experience in production management or similar at a management level.
- Strong people management skills, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and delegate responsibilities.
- Attention to detail and understanding of business financial impacts from production operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and decisiveness.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a flexible approach.
- Good understanding of health & safety and legal requirements for production operations.
- Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and auditing.
- Competent user of Microsoft IT Packages.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV is beneficial but not essential).
