Job description

In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.

The purpose of this role is to effectively manage the factory work operation in the execution of the overall production plan whilst driving down process cost.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Be responsible for the manufacture and/or delivery of product to customer requirements.
  2. Plan resource to meet production output.
  3. Co-ordinate production loading plans with cross-sectional Managers.
  4. Identify and address training needs to maintain quality output in accordance with the Quality Procedures.
  5. Promote a Lean environment.
  6. Contribute to the strategic development of the Company.
  7. Accurately report on KPI's.
  8. Monitor and report on budgets and targets.
  9. Implement working practices to reduce health and safety risks to as low as is reasonably practicable.
  10. To become the lead, mentor and developer within the team.

Candidate Skills
  1. Supervisory / Management Educated.
  2. Sound knowledge of lean and problem solving tools.
  3. Previous experience of leading a team within a high density business.
  4. Demonstrable experience of driving a culture of lean and continuous improvement.
  5. Familiar user of Microsoft packages.
  6. Familiarity with ERP (M3, Baan, SAP) or associated software.
  7. Change Management experience.
  8. Risk Management experience.
