We're Hiring: Production Manager (6-Month FTC)

Location: Storyhouse, Chester

Salary: £35K pro rata

Contract: Fixed Term (6 months), starting June 2025

Storyhouse, Chester’s award-winning cultural centre, is on the lookout for a talented and highly organised Production Manager to lead the delivery of our vibrant and ambitious home-produced shows for the next exciting season. This role spans across our incredible spaces – from the stunning Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre to our dynamic indoor venues including our 850-seat theatre and intimate Garret Studio.

What you'll be doing:

1. Overseeing all production and technical aspects of Storyhouse Originals
2. Managing multiple shows at once, ensuring smooth operations
3. Leading our Production Department and freelance crews
4. Managing production budgets and schedules
5. Ensuring the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and creativity
6. Hands-on involvement with set builds, technical rehearsals, and fit-ups
7. Collaborating closely with our talented in-house team and external creatives

What we’re looking for:

1. Minimum 2 years’ experience in production, stage management, or technical theatre
2. Strong budgeting, scheduling, and organisational skills
3. Knowledge of set construction, CAD software, technical equipment, and production H&S
4. Excellent communication and leadership abilities
5. Experience in both indoor and outdoor theatre environments (bonus!)
6. A valid driving license (up to 3.5T)
