Production Lead

The role of the Production Lead at TISICS is to make sure our products and technology developments are produced safely, cost-effectively and on time and that they meet the required quality standards. The Production Lead will oversee the production planning and processes, coordinating all production activities and operations. The role is hands-on, with active participation in the delivery of components. It will also include the management of a small production team.

Duties And Responsibilities

1. Plan and draw up a production schedule.
2. Manage production resources, including equipment and facilities, decide on and order the required resources and ensure stock levels remain adequate.
3. Liaise with the project and product teams to ensure that the required components are available.
4. Actively participate in the delivery of components.
5. Ensure that the production will be cost effective.
6. Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
7. Set and enforce the quality standards, in coordination with the Quality department.
8. Monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programmes.
9. Take responsibility for the maintenance of equipment, conduct regular inspections and organise the repair of any damaged equipment.
10. Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times and that any concerns are addressed immediately.
11. Liaise across teams and departments to ensure a smooth and efficient production process, making sure everyone is aware of any process changes and improvements.
12. Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met.
13. Identify opportunities to improve processes to increase productivity, for example through lean manufacturing, and reduce costs.
14. Work with managers to ensure that production strategies align with the company's policies and goals.
15. Collate and analyse data, putting together production and performance reports.
16. Supervise and motivate a team of workers.
17. Set worker performance goals, evaluate and review performance, and identify training needs.

• Experience working in production engineering/management in a regulated environment (Aerospace, Space, defence, automotive etc.).
