Role: Production Engineer position
Location: Close to Newmarket, Suffolk
Working hours:
Sunday to Wednesday and Sunday to Tuesday - DAYS - 6.00AM - 6.00PM OR NIGHTS 6.00PM - 6.00AM
Or
Wednesday to Saturday and Thursday to Saturday - 6.00am - 6.00pm DAYS or 6.00pm - 6.00am NIGHTS
Salary: Between £30,000 - £40,000 per annum plus shift incentive
Capacity of role: Permanent position

Our client is a reputable organisation looking to increase their workforce by adding additional Production Engineers to join their workshop-based team. This role is pivotal within the workforce, and you will be joining a well-organised and established team. Main duties will include:

  1. Assisting the Department Head in maintaining product output in the Lathe Area Department.
  2. Investigating and offering suggestions for process improvements and/or cost reductions.
  3. Assisting Lathe Machine production when necessary to maintain production output.
  4. Training new staff and providing progression training for existing staff.
  5. Diagnosing faults and repairing Lathe Machines and associated Equipment.
  6. Completing and updating tasks using maintenance-based software.
  7. Providing assistance as required to any and all members of the Lathe Area team.
  8. Assisting Service Engineers as required.
  9. Supporting any other requirements associated with the department.

Candidate attributes:
  1. Experienced in using a range of tool room/workshop-based machinery.
  2. Familiar with CNC based Machines, with at least 5-10 years' experience in a production environment, preferably on a 24/7 or shift basis.
  3. Very good mechanical aptitude, capable of diagnosing faults associated with Machine Wear and Component Quality.
  4. Disciplined, self-motivated, and able to work as both an individual and part of a team.
  5. Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 and possess strong communication skills to discuss problems and issues with all levels of personnel.
