Qualifications

Job description

Our client, a leading engineering business, is currently looking for an experienced Production Engineer to complement the current growing team.


The Production Engineer position is a vital role within this Department, and with the business expanding, the successful candidate may be presented with more opportunities to further their career within the organization.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Department Head in maintaining product output in the Lathe Area Department.
  2. Investigate and where possible offer suggestions for process improvements and/or cost reductions.
  3. Assist Lathe Machine production when necessary to maintain production output.
  4. Assist in the training of new staff and progression training of existing staff.
  5. Diagnose faults and repair Lathe Machines and associated Equipment.
  6. Complete and update tasks using a Maintenance-based software.
  7. Provide assistance as and when required to any and all members of the Lathe Area team.
  8. Provide assistance to Service Engineers as and when required.
  9. Assist with any other requirements associated with the Lathe Area Department.
  10. Provide weekend Engineering cover, once capable, on a rotational basis with the other Engineers in the team.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Experience in using a range of tool room/workshop-based machinery.
  2. Familiar with Lathe Machines, preferably Multispindle, and also have at least 5-10 years experience of working in a production environment, preferably on a 24/7 basis.
  3. Good mechanical aptitude and be able to diagnose faults associated with Machine Wear and Component Quality.
  4. Disciplined, self-motivated, and able to work as both an individual and as part of a team.
  5. Willing to support the Lathe Area Department as and when necessary, outside of normal working hours.
  6. Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 and have strong communication skills, being able to discuss problems and issues with all levels of personnel.
