Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Salary: £26,000 - £30,000

Job Overview

We are looking for a Product Development Specification Technologist to join our New Product Development (NPD) team! You’ll play a key role in crafting innovative recipes, refining existing formulations, and ensuring all specifications meet customer requirements. Working closely with the NPD, Technical, and Quality teams, you'll help bring exciting new food products to market while ensuring scalability for production.

Day-to-Day Duties

1. Develop & refine recipes with the NPD team to meet customer briefs and market trends.
2. Source ingredients & prepare customer samples, ensuring accurate costing analysis.
3. Conduct market research to track trends and identify product opportunities.
4. Create detailed product specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
5. Support customer meetings, providing insights on product development and specifications.

Minimum Requirements

1. Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
2. Experience in an NPD team (graduates with relevant placements welcome!).
3. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
4. Passion for high-quality food production and market trends.
5. Excellent communication & organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Additional Qualifications

1. Experience in food product development, specification writing, or quality assurance.
2. Knowledge of retailer specification systems & regulatory requirements.
3. A full UK driving licence would be beneficial.
