About the Production Chef job

We’re seeking an experienced Chef to prepare nutritious, high-quality meals by following established recipes, to ensure consistency, and maintain strict food hygiene standards in a production kitchen. The successful candidate will lead and manage kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operations as well as adhering to production guidelines and maintaining a safe, clean workspace. We are hiring multiple candidates for this position.

Key tasks

  1. Cook dishes to recipe, ensuring portion control, presentation, and consistent quality through accurate weighing and taste tests.
  2. Follow strict hygiene, storage, and cleaning procedures, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  3. Work efficiently to meet targets while collaborating with the team to maintain smooth operations and a positive work environment.
  4. Complete records, ensure adherence to company policies, and support safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

  1. We are looking for a person with proven background as a Sous Chef or Banqueting Chef in high-volume kitchens, with strong team management, delegation, and motivation skills.
  2. GNVQ2/3 in Catering & Hospitality, Level 3+ Food Safety, proficiency in Excel & Word, and strong organisational and record-keeping abilities.
  3. Excellent collaboration, leadership, and ability to drive and motivate staff while upholding company values.
  4. Commitment to high food standards, customer service excellence, and maintaining food safety, hygiene, and operational efficiency.

More details

The Production Chef job (ref:8856) is based in Colchester, Essex and is paying £35,000 - £40,000 according to your experience. We are hiring multiple candidates for this position.

The hours of work are either 8:00am to 4:00pm, 2:00pm to 10:00pm, or 10:00am to 6:00pm.
