Production Buyer

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Buyer to join our client's procurement team. You will be responsible for purchasing materials and services for production, ensuring smooth and timely operations, and maintaining high-quality standards while minimising costs.

Location: Chelmsford

Hours: Full time or part time

Key Responsibilities:

1. Source and purchase raw materials, parts, components, and services.
2. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
3. Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
4. Prepare and issue accurate purchase orders.
5. Ensure quality standards are met for all purchased materials.
6. Resolve procurement-related issues promptly.
7. Collaborate with internal teams to align material needs with production schedules.
8. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Qualifications:

1. Supply Chain or Business qualification preferred.
2. Minimum 4 years' experience in production purchasing or supply chain, ideally in manufacturing.
3. Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain logistics.
4. Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Working Conditions:
