Job description

Thames Water have an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner – Web to join our growing web product team. As we continue to enhance and transform our online experience across key business units including Revenue, Operations, Developer Services, and Property Searches, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Product Owner to lead an agile cross-functional team in delivering innovative and improved digital solutions for our customers.

What you will be doing as the Product Owner - Web: In this role, you will coordinate outputs across content, design, and web development, turning ideas into reality. You will take ownership of new features and functionality, ensuring they are successfully launched and delivering value. Once live, you’ll monitor performance, provide updates to stakeholders, and use insights to drive a backlog of continuous improvements.

As Product Owner, you will shape and maintain a clear product roadmap that aligns with both customer needs and business priorities, ensuring maximum impact and value from our teams.

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Be customer-led, delivering the seamless and high-quality experiences our customers deserve.
  • Work with business stakeholders and experts to gather problem statements, then lead the collaboration between Content, Design and technical development teams to deliver solutions on our website.
  • Be proactive in driving ideas for new and improved web functionality.
  • Create, maintain and deliver the product roadmap for your team, and ensure this is communicated with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure requirements are clearly defined and prioritised in the product backlog.
  • Prioritise the team capacity to deliver the maximum value from every sprint, using evidence and data to support your decisions.
  • Measure the value of the change delivered by the team, using tools such as Google Analytics and CSAT scores.

What you should bring to the role:
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in a cross-functional product team, working within an agile environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the business, including senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in gathering business requirements and problem statements and translating them into actionable solutions from discovery through to delivery.
  • The ability to build and maintain a clear product roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and maximises value.
  • A data-driven mindset, using insights and analytics to drive iterative improvements and optimise the online experience.

  • A Competitive salary of £46,000 up to £60,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
