Job description

We’ve recently welcomed musicMagpie to the AO family, a company that shares our passion for putting customers first, caring about colleagues and making a real difference. Together, we’re set to make an even bigger difference and with that comes exciting opportunities to shape the future of sustainable tech.

musicMagpie are on a mission to make tech more affordable and help protect the planet by encouraging recycling, refurbishing, and repurposing tech and physical media products. They give millions of customers a smart, sustainable, and trusted way to buy, sell, and rent phones, tablets, games consoles, laptops, and other tech - all in one place.

We’re looking for a Product Owner to guide development teams in building high quality, customer centric products and features, using feedback from stakeholders to drive continuous product improvement.

You’ll work closely with the Senior Product Owner to build a roadmap that’s suitable for customers, stakeholders and the business that outline key requirements, understanding the personas of the product and then leading product ceremonies to remove any blockers and create a path to help create acceptance criteria.

Our Product Owners collaborate with a whole range of different teams, from merchandising and marketing to UX and commercial, to ensure solid user experience and usability principles are applied when making changes to existing and new experiences, and relay results of changes to maintain a positive morale.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
  • Reporting to the Senior Product Owner within the Product & UX function
  • Digital Product Owner to the Website Product team, owning the backlog for this team
  • Act as the voice of the customer (whether consumer or business user) to guide all stages of software development, including user story development, sprint planning, and prioritisation of the product backlog.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to develop and document user stories
  • Maintain the product backlog and keep the roadmap up to date ahead of key stakeholder meets
  • Use feedback from development retrospectives (and gather stakeholder and customer where possible) to improve and optimise ways of working and refine processes
  • Lead the sprint review meeting to present the output from the sprint to key stakeholders.
  • Analyse feedback from sprint reviews, and other data such as end user feedback and operational metrics, to identify and understand product needs.
  • Work with the development team to create acceptance criteria and definitions of failures and done.
  • Assist the team on the development of feature tests, test cases, and regression tests.
  • Set expectations with business stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
A Few Things About You
  • Ability to understand complex business problems and identify and interpret business needs.
  • Experience with website analytics tools
  • Advanced knowledge of agile development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated facilitation and influencing skills to drive decision making among stakeholders with diverse perspectives and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a concise, simple manner for stakeholder understanding
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of agile planning tools (e.g. JIRA, DevOps) preferred
  • Relevant experience expert in a product owner role preferred
