We have been named a Top 10 “Most Loved Workplace” for the second year running! At Metro Bank, people come first – our culture is all about bringing the best out in our colleagues, and making sure everyone feels valued, respected, seen and included. We strongly believe in a diverse and inclusive workplace and to find the very best person for the job, we always look across a wide range of diverse communities. We are also all about balance so most of our jobs offer the opportunity for hybrid working built around your role and home life, wherever possible.
What you will do:
- Own and drive our regulatory reporting product roadmap.
- Create the Vision and Objectives for the product and communicate this to your feature team.
- Define, prioritise and sequence the backlog of user stories, working with cross-functional feature teams to bring new propositions and features to life.
- Break down deliverables into a Minimal Viable Product (MVP), working with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate these to engineering for delivery.
- Ensure constant communication and transparency with how the product is evolving and performing.
- Build up the roadmap for their product for the short and medium terms (6-12 month and 1-2 years).
- Competent in holding ideation sessions to discuss ideas and ways to solve a problem – you set the What? and Why?
- Use KPIs as a measure of success and progress for changes, and understand the need and power of benefit realisation.
- Present at demo sessions and communicate proof of concepts to senior stakeholders.
- Understand how the product works from a medium to high level technical perspective.
- Ensure operational blueprints, workflows and documentation are updated and available on Confluence.
- Work in agile methodologies and support the teams to deliver by providing context, priority order and quick clarifications where queries arise.
- Present regular competitor research and be aware of market trends in the industry.
- Work closely with the UXUI teams and CX where appropriate, and bring these functions into the ideation process.
- Be driven by data and insights, constantly looking to build in data capture throughout your product, alongside real time monitoring and alerting.
And... we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do. We love people who take responsibility, do the right thing for customers, colleagues and Metro Bank and have the ability to call out any concerns.
What you will need:
- Able to create a roadmap for their feature team, looking at the problem and opportunities that align with the Bank’s strategy – this is derived from looking at customer pain points, data and competitor analysis.
- This roadmap has clear KPIs and benefit realisation for the changes implemented – through processes like AB testing and prototyping.
- Able to put forward features through an ideation process into the hands of FANS.
- Able to interrogate customer data and provide insights – can communicate these to stakeholders on a regular basis, uniting with commercial goals.
- Look to market and competitors for research, and understand the opportunities for improvement of their product.
- Able to deliver small changes, continuous improvements and projects using agile methodologies with success and a high regard for quality led releases with the Engineering team.
- Conduct demos as part of the Sprint review meeting to stakeholders with engineering.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage senior stakeholder expectations about delivery and timelines.
- Work in a clear and transparent way to prioritise items in the frameworks provided.
- Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders.
Our promise to you…
We will make sure that you are well-rewarded by providing you with a competitive salary, discretionary annual bonus, and a wide range of benefits, including generous holiday allowance, attractive pension scheme, healthcare, life assurance, and a number of colleague discounts!
We will give you the training to ensure you succeed in your role and plenty of internal opportunities to progress your career (around 40% of our recruitment comes from internal promotions!).
Diverse teams really are the best teams. We know that candidates (especially women, research tells us) may be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box. We also know that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t always doable, and while we can’t accommodate every flexible working request we are happy to be asked. So if you are excited about working with us and think you can do much of what we are looking for but aren’t sure if you are 100% there yet… why not give it a whirl? Please note that sometimes we may close a job earlier for applications if we are inundated with amazing candidates. Good luck!
