Salary offered up to £50,000 dependant on experience, plus a discretionary annual bonus opportunity.

As Product Manager you will be responsible for providing product management and support in the life science market. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of product management, with a passion for evolving great products; experience with laboratory equipment will also be a distinct advantage.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a hybrid working pattern (3 days in the office in Buckinghamshire, two at home). Travel expected to be up to 20% of the time.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the achievement of the company’s business objectives in the global life science market.
  • Oversee the product life cycle process, establishing strategy and roadmaps for solutions based on consolidated customer needs, market trends, and business opportunities.
  • Direct R&D efforts to ensure alignment with the established roadmap.
  • Provide training and support for all assigned products and related consumables to channel partners and OEM distributors.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to create marketing and sales tools for life science products.
  • Stay informed about competitors by conducting thorough research.
  • Develop commercial and technical strategies for product pricing and positioning.
  • Manage the assigned product portfolio, serving as the product expert.
  • Gather and analyse feedback from customers and key stakeholders to enhance customer and market insights.
  • Deliver regular reports on key metrics to stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with all departments to ensure new products are seamlessly integrated into operational workflows, identifying and addressing potential friction points.
  • Provide guidance on regulatory approvals, standards, testing requirements, and relevant product standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Background in scientific and research markets
  • Experience with laboratory equipment is beneficial
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills; skilled in presenting to all organisational levels
  • Proficient in planning, scheduling, and overseeing tasks efficiently within strict deadlines, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and procedures
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
  • In-depth knowledge of the entire product development life cycle
  • Ability to analyse complex data to discern market trends and customer behaviour patterns
