Product Engineer (Fixed Income)

The Position

This position is for a Product Engineer role within FlexTrade's Global Fixed Income Product group. Reporting into the EMEA Fixed Income Product Lead, the Product Engineer is a technical role but envisioned to be a key fixed income client-facing position, working with assigned clients, collaborating with other internal teams, and helping with solution conceptualization, building proof of concepts/prototypes, assisting with product delivery, and troubleshooting. In addition, the Product Engineer is expected to help with product demo environments and their support. The Product Engineer is expected to specialize in fixed income trading solutions, continuously educating themselves on the rapidly evolving landscape of the fixed income electronic trading space.

• Passionate about fixed income as an asset class in the context of electronic trading
• Flexible working with various teams and can multitask effectively

Responsibilities

• Helps ensure our stated product roadmap is executed upon
• Interface and work with all internal teams working on active feature development, customizing and deployment to clients, project and account managers, clients/front office/trading end users, prospects, and sales teams
• Spend a portion of time building prototypes/proofs of concept for demos, help with demo environment enhancements
• Own end-to-end outcome for an assigned set of product features, including testing and working with the larger fixed income QA team
• Keep abreast with the latest developments within the fixed income electronic trading space, attend and contribute to seminars and conferences

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience as a software engineer, preferably in trading systems
• Experience with C++ (or Java/Python) and Linux
• Demonstrable end-to-end ownership of a technical feature
• Electronic trading experience (fixed income preferable)
• Demonstrable interest to evolve their initial technical background into a broader product/feature mindset
• Ability to communicate confidently and concisely to both business and technical clients and colleagues
• Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills
• Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented
• Self-motivated and proactive
