The people. The style. The energy. The character. It’s hard not to be inspired by the UK Capital. That’s where Radley London was born with a passion for artisan-made handbags, footwear and accessories. We put fashion in functional, with every piece made to last and put a spring in your step. Whether strutting through the streets of Soho, or on the school run.

We know leather. It’s in our DNA. And we never stop striving to set a new standard for quality. Every Radley London design is made with expert care. Do you hear that smooth glide of a zip? We consider every detail and our teams all play a part.

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Developer to lead the development of our global Outlet/Diffusion range of handbags, small leather goods and accessories. You will be responsible for ensuring all products as part of the global Outlet range are developed and bought in line with the company critical path.

You’ll be working closely with the Radley Outlet Design, Merchandising and Buying teams for the creation of a desirable profitable range in alignment with the brand’s accessible luxury positioning.

The role is ideal for someone with a passion for fashion and a keen eye for detail, who can bring ideas to life whilst ensuring the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of ladies' handbags and accessories from concept to final product, ensuring alignment with the brand's aesthetics and quality standards.
  • Partner with design team to translate creative visions into market-ready products, considering trends and customer preferences.
  • Identify and source high-quality materials, particularly leather from supply base, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Oversee the creation of prototypes and samples, ensuring they meet design specifications, quality standards and in-line with the company critical path deadlines.
  • Monitor and manage costs to ensure products are developed within budget constraints. Product engineering where necessary and negotiation to achieve targeted intake margin per category.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and customer preferences.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with supply base.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate and ensure consistent material quality.
  • Provide clear and effective support to both internal and external customers, addressing their needs and responding promptly.
  • Ad-hoc duties: you will at times be required to carry out duties not listed above; whether that is to support another colleague, take on additional responsibilities or to get involved in project work.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in product development, preferably in the leather goods or accessories industry.
  • Strong understanding of leather materials, fabric and hardware – their applications and limitations and production processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Able to balance creativity with cost efficiency, ensuring products are commercially viable whilst maintaining Radley product standards.
  • Excellent project management skills to manage multiple projects and timelines, the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands.
  • Communication: the ability to convey information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Microsoft 365 experience (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
