Are you an experienced engineer with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for turning customer requirements into practical, production-ready specifications?

Our client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Derry, is seeking a Product Engineer to join their technical team. In this role, you'll be the bridge between customer expectations and production capability - translating ideas into precise specifications, managing tooling design, and ensuring products are built to exact standards.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in mechanical or manufacturing engineering who enjoys working across departments, taking ownership of documentation, and solving problems with a proactive mindset.

What you'll be doing:

1. Develop and maintain accurate product specifications based on customer requirements and in-house production capabilities.
2. Design and order tooling required for production processes, ensuring alignment with internal specifications.
3. Translate customer data and technical drawings into clear documentation using AutoCAD.
4. Maintain organised customer master files, including all related documentation and approved specifications.
5. Generate internal product specs and communicate product data for use in SAP, including BOMs and routings.
6. Support new business development projects and contribute to ongoing product improvement initiatives.
7. Coordinate change requests across departments, ensuring full compliance with customer agreements and internal quality standards.
8. Investigate and resolve product-related manufacturing issues using analytical and engineering skills.
9. Contribute to internal audits, continuous improvement projects, and cross-functional collaboration with teams including QA, Sales, Customer Service, and Manufacturing.

What we're looking for:

1. Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
2. 2-4 years of experience in product design, development, or a related technical role.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong skills across Microsoft Office applications.
4. Excellent attention to detail, with a methodical and organised approach to documentation.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers.
6. Experience working within a quality-driven environment.
