Job description

Product Analyst / Business Analyst - SAAS product, UK Remote and Hybrid options available

Cyberhawk use drones and software to keep people out of danger and reduce the carbon footprint of our energy and large capital project clients. We are looking for a mid-career level Business Analyst who wants to make a big impact and have autonomy and responsibility in a flexible company that values their employees.

This role can be part of our hybrid working team or can be a UK remote role. The team gathers every three months or so in the Edinburgh (Ratho) office for our team day, but of course you’re welcome to come into the office as often as you like if you live nearby!

About our Product Analyst / Business Analyst role:

You would be joining our experienced Product Team who are responsible for our iHawk application and the individual solutions it delivers. You will be working closely with our Product Owners, UX/UI Designers, and Developers ensuring that our products are developed in line with the roadmap, strategy, and customer needs. We work in an agile way and give everyone a large amount of responsibility and autonomy, and so here is a place you can make a difference and voice opinions.

The day-to-day:

  • You will be analysing systems and mapping business processes to identify gaps and improvements that can be made.
  • You will be supporting the Product Owner in managing product roadmap priorities to ensure development work is prioritised.
  • You will work closely with the delivery team, product owners, and stakeholders to define, document, and split features and user stories for the team to implement.
  • Following agile principles, you will contribute to team sprint planning and set expectations for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
  • You will work with stakeholders across product, operations, sales, marketing, and the development teams to help influence and shape the product strategy and roadmap and undertake Business Analysis tasks to support commercial business cases.
  • You will also work closely with stakeholders and partners to ensure we understand the customer problems and work with the development team to ensure the solutions we develop address those needs.
  • You will be understanding the customer data and problems and ensure we make the most of that data to give users the information they need to make the best decision quickly and easily.
  • You will be evaluating client requests, end user insights, industry drivers, and competitor capabilities to identify enhancements.
  • You will also collaborate closely with the product and design teams to ensure operational team processes and data processing requirements are factored into new product development plans and designs, and to integrate solutions to identify user experience issues in upcoming releases.

Who would be a good fit for our role?:

We are looking for a Product Analyst or BA around the mid-career level in terms of experience. You need to be a strong problem solver with analytical skills and an ability to think outside of the box. We give everyone a lot of autonomy and want people to have a voice, so you should be able to make decisions and be confident voicing opinions. You will fit in if you are an empathetic human who enjoys working with stakeholders and can communicate well. We take pride in our work and support each other so are looking for someone who likes that too.

Ideally you will have experience with:

  • Mapping business processes and identifying gaps and improvements that can be made.
  • Developing and documenting detailed business requirements for business process changes.
  • Translating business requirements into technical requirements that can be implemented by technical teams.
  • Developing business cases and project plans for business initiatives that support business strategy and goals.
  • Identifying appropriate project stakeholders and developing and maintaining their engagement at all stages of the requirements process.
  • Accurately identifying and estimating deliverable efforts and commitments.
  • Contributing to team sprint planning and set expectations for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
