Description

Bath Spa University is expanding its procurement team. We have two exciting opportunities available: Procurement Manager and Procurement Specialist.

The Procurement Specialist will play a key role in supporting the University's operational procurement by enhancing purchasing processes, including use of systems and data, looking after supplier communications, and leading tender processes with stakeholders.

About the Role

Our procurement team handles a diverse range of procurement activities across all categories, ensuring there are plenty of exciting opportunities and projects, working with different customers and suppliers, through a range of different processes.

The role involves identifying opportunities to achieve value for money and improve efficiencies in processes. Through the use of various systems and data sources, the Procurement Specialist will improve processes including supply chain information, routes to market including eMarketplace.

The Procurement Specialist will also guide customers through lower-value/risk procurement processes and lead on medium-value/risk processes, while also advising on appropriate routes to market, including the use of framework and dynamic agreements.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience in a range of procurement processes, especially use of framework and dynamic agreements. Experience across a variety of goods and services in a complex environment is required, preferably within public sector procurement.

A strong commitment to excellent customer service is essential, along with developing experience in contract management and negotiation. The Procurement Specialist will have excellent communication skills, and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to process improvement including through the use of systems and data, developing guidance and templates for customers, and consideration for a responsible procurement approach with sustainability at its heart.

Additional Information

Salary: Grade 7, £38,249 to £42,882 per annum.

Occasional weekend working will be required during the year for which appropriate conditions of service will apply.

A job share will be considered for the right candidate.
