Job description

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a major multi-million pound company with the recruitment of a Procurement Officer to join their team based in Belfast.

This is a temporary contract to cover a period of sickness expected to last for a minimum of 4 weeks.

Salary:

£32,000 per year - £16.63 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • To review, categorise, prioritise and action all Purchase Requisitions received from user departments.
  • Management of purchase orders from order placement to delivery.
  • To source and price goods and services as required.
  • Dealing with enquiries from prospective suppliers.
  • Assistance in tendering processes.
  • Ownership of procurement document management systems; ensuring there is regular review and updates whilst highlighting any area of concern or action points.
  • Contract management and review.
  • Assist in performing governance role to ensure compliance with company policy and aide reporting of breaches under the policy.
  • Ensure the efficient running of Stores.

The Ideal Person:

  • General Education to include GCSE Maths and English Grade C.
  • At least 2 years' relevant experience of procurement.
  • Experience of working within an MRP/ERP platform.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Understanding of all aspects of the contracting process and experience of managing contracts.
  • Able to satisfy security checks.

Desirable Criteria:

  • CIPS qualification or equivalent or actively working towards qualification.
  • Knowledge of electronic tendering and contract management systems.
